A 9pm report of a car fire sent police and rescue workers to the scene on the Rama II Road's 69th kilometre marker in Tambon Bang Khan Taek. Sasithorn Wansri, 38, said she was driving on their way back from visiting her ailing mother at Ratchaburi Hospital when she smelled something burning. She grabbed her one-year-old son and her four-year-old daughter while her husband got the other two daughters out of the car. They also managed to remove belongings before the flames spread to the car engine. Sasithorn said she fitted the car with an LPG tank five years ago, but did not have time to submit it for maintenance checking.
