Assyut Governorate witnessed a tragic incident as a husband, wife, and their son drowned in the Ibrahimiya Canal at Al-Tikeya village, in Manfalut. Investigations and eyewitness accounts showed that Mohamed fell in the water while playing on the edge of the canal. His parent jumped into the water to rescue him but the three of them drowned. According to investigations, a family of three members drowned in the Ibrahimiya water canal, including the father, Eid M., a 45-year-old farmer, his wife Fatema E., a 30-year-old housewife, and their 12-year-old son, Mohamed. Another passerby, Mohamed Ali Saeed, 55, fell into a coma after attempting to rescue them.
