Ella Craig’s family reluctantly gave up Rocky the Dutch shepherd because they could not give him the attention he needed. A rescue charity took in 10-month-old Rocky and placed him with German Shepherd Rescue Elite, a group that specialises in finding appropriate work for larger dogs. And this month he landed at the 110,000-acre Ol Pejeta Conservancy, home to 144 rhinos. Hetal Ganatra, Ol Pejeta director, said: “There’s basically no technology better than our canine friends, and Rekari will save countless rhinos in the coming years.”
