SJOG Community Services is funded by the HSE to provide disability and mental health services to 8,000 children and adults, and employs 2,500 staff. Ms Walsh said news of the transfer of services from SJOG to the HSE had caused concern among residents’ families. Ms Walsh said she had been contacted by a number of other families concerned about whether existing standards of care would be maintained following the transfer to the HSE. Any cuts to existing services or staffing levels would be a big concern for the families of residents in disability centres, Ms Walsh said.
