The family members of women affected by the CervicalCheck scandal will have their medical cards extended for another three years. More than 1,100 family members and partners of women involved in the scandal were given free medical cards in May 2018. However, Health Minister Stephen Donnelly is bringing a memo to Cabinet today which will see the extension of the medical cards for another three years. The cards were issued as part of a comprehensive package of supports for women and their families affected by the controversy. The medical cards held by the women directly affected by the scandal do not have expiry dates and do not need to be renewed.
