False alarm after police bomb squad investigate unknown object in HuntlyMAARTEN HOLL/FAIRFAX NZ Police are responding to a unknown object found in Huntly (file photo). Police have destroyed an object initially thought to be suspicious and removed a cordon in Huntly. A cordon in place around the roundabout at Tainui Bridge Rd and George Dr, off State Highway One has been removed. The object was discovered at the centre of the roundabout just after 8pm on Sunday night and a cordon put in place as a New Zealand Defence Force bomb squad travelled from Auckland to investigate. Police thanked the public for their patience.
