Breanna Lattimore drowned at Maruia Falls yesterday. Photo Facebook via NZ HeraldPolice have released the name of the Motueka woman who drowned at Maruia Falls in the Tasman district yesterday. Initially police reported that she jumped from the top of Maruia Falls. It's understood she got caught in an eddy, where the river water recirculates. Despite warning signs warning not to swim there, the falls could appear to be relatively innocuous and swimmers often ignored them.
