Fire and Emergency New Zealand received a callout to Shakespeare Bay about 3.15pm on Saturday. Email newstips@stuff.co.nzA spokesperson said when the Picton Volunteer Fire Brigade arrived it appeared fallen power lines had sparked a fire. The spokesperson asked for people not to gather at the scene, including at the nearby lookouts on Queen Charlotte Drive, for their own safety and to give crews space to work.
