Fall in Covid cases 'much slower' in poorer areas putting easing lockdown in doubt


(Image: PA)The Lancashire town averaged 357 cases per 100,000 people in the seven days to the last week of January. The rate in the Bradford West constituency fell by 14 per cent, with 274 cases per 100,000 at the end of last month. Compared with these poorer regions in the north of England, the declines in wealthier areas in the south were much bigger. Both the Oxford West and Abingdon constituency and Saffron Waldon saw their infection rates fall by 72 per cent. "Talking to teachers in my constituency this week, they have said that we want this properly planned."
