more-inBangalore University officials uncovered an elaborate scam perpetrated by a private distance learning college, which has allegedly duped over 70 PU students since 2016 by issuing fake degrees. The management allegedly claimed to have affiliation with BU and conducted ‘final exams’ after which students were awarded fake graduation certificates with counterfeit BU emblem. The college enrolled PU candidates who had failed their second pre-university exams and allegedly promised degree certificates. Based on the complaints, police have taken two officials of the college into custody for questioning. a senior police officer said that the college has three more centres in Hebbal, Bommanahalli and Ramanagar.
