Siddiqui worked for the Waikato District Health Board as a psychiatrist for six months in 2015, with a salary of $165,250, before suspicions were raised about his credentials and charges laid. He worked for the district health board's crisis, triage and home-based treatment service and was responsible for triaging all contacts with mental health services.
