On Tuesday, Facebook launched a new Stories feature in its flagship app, after earlier debuting a version of Stories in Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger. In a video announcing the new feature, Facebook mimics language Snap Inc. CEO Evan Spiegel has used for years: People want to talk through their cameras. In a briefing, Facebook acknowledged Snapchat invented Stories, and said the rollout is intended to accommodate all of the ways people want to share on Facebook. "Snapchat did a great job of uncovering Stories as a way people want to share photos and videos in their app," Hayes added. Also like on Snapchat, Facebook users can see Stories posted by friends in a Stories tray at the top of the app in the form of bubbles with a blue ring.
