Many governments banning viewing of material they find 'objectionable', threatening social media platforms with fines. Facebook has admitted its artificial intelligence systems failed to automatically detect the Christchurch mosque shooting video. In the first 24 hours after the shooting, Facebook removed about 1.5 million versions of the attack video. The Government this week sought "urgent" advice from the State Services Commission about how its agencies use social media platforms. On Wednesday, State Services Minister Chris Hipkins said the Government was also concerned about what was happening on some social media platforms.
