FTSE 100 slides as investors digest Trump victory


Copper continues to benefit from Donald Trump’s pledges on infrastructure. Antofagasta shares were up another half a point today Nacho Doce / ReutersBritain’s leading shares index fell for a second day as investors took stock after Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential election. The FTSE 100 was down 1.2 per cent, or 82 points, to 6,746 this morning. Asia-focused Standard Chartered also had a tricky morning, dropping 4.8 per cent after Bloomberg reported that it plans to exit almost three-quarters of its private equity investments by early-2018. Shares in the British bank were down 31p to 628p.
