The FTSE 100 was down 1.2 per cent to 6,026.62 and the more UK-focused FTSE 250 fell 0.5 per cent to 17,542. Glencore, the miner and commodities trader, fell after it cancelled its dividend after a $2.6 billion net loss for the first half following $3.2 billion of impairments. The shares lost 4.9 per cent, or 9p, to 186½p. The broadcaster ITV also fell after it reported a 90 per cent drop in first-half profits after the lockdown hit advertising spending and production.
