The building is named Faruk-Rupayan Tower (FR Tower), after Rupayan Housing Estate and the owner, Faruk. Developer Company Rupayan then sold the floors to different people, bringing the number of owners of the building to 24. Kamal Hossain, manager of the building on behalf of the land owner, said the building now has 24 owners with floor spaces rented out to 29 companies.
