FOCO flops as Western University students keep parties small

Broughdale Avenue, a small residential street next to Western University where the infamous FOCO or Fake Homecoming parties take place, was nearly deserted. Some students gathered on porches and in backyards but the gatherings appeared to be within the regulation size for pandemic rules. The concern comes, in part because previous FOCO weekends have seen as many as 20,000 students jammed onto Broughdale Avenue and surrounding streets. There has been outrage at the suggestion that FOCO go ahead, with two outbreaks currently linked to Western University students who disregarded distancing rules earlier in September. Students play basketball on a street leading away from campus during "Fake Homecoming" or FOCO weekend.
