Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry at the parliament - Photo by Khaled Mashaal for ETCAIRO – 26 January 2021: Egypt is keen on peacefully solving conflicts in the region, and always rejects conspiracies and interference in domestic affairs of countries, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said Tuesday during a hearing at the parliament. Shoukry showed up Tuesday at the parliament to read out a statement about the implementation of a 2018-2020 government program as requested by the House. “Egypt has been adopting a foreign policy that is based on balanced, diverse and strategic relations with the aim to achieve public interests and protect the national security,” he told the House. “The Foreign Ministry works to implement a state vision meant to protect the national security, counter terrorism and to achieve sustainable development,” Shoukry told the House. While for Egypt’s role in the region, Shoukry highlighted Egypt’s keenness on peacefully solving conflicts in the region, stressing that the Palestinian problem remains the most important cause of all, despite the peace deal signed with Israel.
