The criminal Investigation Department (CID) has lodged an FIR against an IPS officer for allegedly forging documents to extend his service by three years. The CID lodged an FIR under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471 and 474 of the IPC against Mathur on Wednesday. As per police records, Mathur’s date of birth is July 4, 1956, according to which he was due to retire on July 31, 2016. However, the officer allegedly managed to get his date of birth changed to July 4, 1959, and even submitted a birth certificate, passport, driving licence and one more identity card in support. Mathur refused to comment on the issue when contacted by The Indian Express.
