France's win came against Germany, and things have gone from bad to worse for Joachim Low's side after a dismal few months. Following their disastrous World Cup campaign, Germany fell 14 places to 15th, before rising three places up to 12th in September. Gareth Southgate's side enjoyed a hugely impressive win over Spain (ninth) in the Nations League and drew 0-0 in a behind closed doors clash in Croatia. Gibraltar were the biggest mover in terms of climbing places, rising eight spots to 190th after victories over Liechtenstein (182nd) and Armenia (101st). That is one place above Northern Ireland, who have tumbled six places after defeats to Austria (24th) and Bosnia (22nd).
