FIFA president Gianni Infantino has given his whole hearted backing to the controversial video assistant referee technology. “The results so far have been very encouraging, very positive,” Infantino told a sports conference in Dubai. “Decisions which were taken wrongly have been altered to take the right decisions. “Nevertheless, I believe it was the right decision we took one and a half years ago to test the VAR’. FIFA have yet to confirm whether the VAR will be used at the World Cup 2018 in Russia.
