According to the report, former director Ghani, with the alleged support of other officials, had sent some Afghan nationals to the UK on Pakistani documents in 2014. The FIA management had initiated an inquiry against Ghani after registering a case and recommended a departmental inquiry against him. During the investigation, FIA officials collected telephonic record of other FIA officers and, after establishing its link with human trafficking, presented its report to the government. The FIA expanded its circle of investigation to some more officers, including FIA Deputy Director Tahir Jan, Assistant Director Rana Abid, Assistant Director Adnan Khan and others. The report found that the FIA officers while adopting delay tactics facilitated the crime.
