The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has authorized the first blood test that would determine whether or not someone has been infected with coronavirus. This type of test, which is known as a serology test, would look for antibodies in the blood. The FDA has issued an Emergency Use Authorization for the first coronavirus antibody test. According to the FDA, the antibodies against the novel coronavirus are 'generally detectable in blood several days after initial infection.' The alleged test could detect coronavirus antibodies in just two minutes from a pinprick of blood from a finger.
