A recent Israeli study that administered booster shots to people with compromised immune systems found that the extra shot increased antibody levels. People with immunocompromised systems, which includes those undergoing organ transplants or cancer treatment, are more susceptible to severe illness from Covid-19. With Covid-19 cases surging in multiple states, a CDC advisory group, met with the FDA last month to urge the agency to decide if booster shots were needed for people with compromised immune systems, according to NBC News.
