ORGANISED Labour in the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), and the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), on Wednesday, called out her members to commence the national strike as directed by the central labour, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC). In a statement signed by its Chairman, Comrade Korede Matilukoro, a copy of which was made available to TribuneOnline in Abuja, the Joint Unions Action Committee (JUAC) called on staff to comply fully with the strike action. The statement read in part: “the Joint Unions Action Committee, JUAC is in receipt of a circular from the national headquarters of the Trade Union Congress, TUC and the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, calling for a nationwide strike with effect from the midnight of 26th September 2018. “For the avoidance of doubt, all staff are expected to sit at home, as any staff caught contravening this directive will be sanctioned accordingly. It would be recalled that the TUC and the NLC have instructed all affiliate unions to commence a nationwide strike to press home their demand for a new minimum wage.
