FCAFiat Chrysler Automotive announced on Friday that it's going to field a company-record five commercials during the Super Bowl LII broadcast on Sunday, while Toyota has committed to three Big Game ads for the first time. Among other automakers, only Lexus, Kia and Hyundai also have disclosed Big Game ad commitments. Heading into his planned retirement early next year, Marchionne apparently sees plenty of runway for at least the Jeep and Ram brands. Toyota also is explicitly tying its Super Bowl efforts into its eight-year global sponsorship of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, which again will be staged this month in the Winter Games, in South Korea. The company sat out last year's Big Game after running ads annually from 2012 through 2016.
