Current vice-president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) Md Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin will lead the country’s apex trade body for the next two years. The newly elected and nominated directors of FBCCI lent their support to him on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Sheikh Fazle Fahim, who represents Gopalganj Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was elected as the first vice-president and Muntakim Ashraf, who represents Bangladesh Cold Storage Association as vice-president respectively. Fahim was elected unopposed, while Ashraf secured 1,105 votes. This year, two panels contested for 18 directorial posts among 36, while the remaining 18 directors had been elected unopposed.
