The Amharic text accompanying the image translates to, “TPLF forces cross Tekeze river and occupy Amhara land.”River Tekeze is in the north-central highlands and passes through the Tigray and Amhara regions. Google reverse image search results established that the photo advancing the claim has been used online in different contexts unrelated to TPLF forces crossing River Tekeze in 2024.
