Following the two incidents, the FA released the following statement: 'It has been yet another weekend where players are facing discriminatory abuse and having to deal with anonymous keyboard warriors who hide in a world of impunity. A number of players have received similar racial abuse in recent days as part of a worrying spate of abuse from online trolls. The Greater Manchester Police revealed they will be launching an investigation into the barrage of online abuse the players received.
