F1 qualifying result in full as Lewis Hamilton dominates in pouring rain

The reigning world champion was over a second ahead of Red Bull's Max Verstappen who spun at the last corner on his final flying lap. The hour-long Saturday session had been delayed by 45 minutes due to torrential rain which had also caused the cancellation of the morning’s practice session. The wet weather also allowed Williams’ George Russell show his pedigree by getting into Q2 for the first time in his career. Behind the front row, it was a good session for McLaren with Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris setting the third and sixth fastest times respectively.
