It allowed Charles Leclerc, team-mate Max Verstappen and Sainz a de-facto free pit-pit stop to get ahead of him. But emerging from the pit-lane, Sainz only just managed to clear Perez as they passed a crucial safety car line that prevents overtaking from that point on the track onwards. After passing Perez, Sainz went on to take third place at Jeddah and secure another podiumSainz went on to claim third place for Ferrari, following on from his second place in the season opening Bahrain Grand Prix.
