Eyes on the Ground: Christians mark Palm Sunday while observing lockdown directive

With the 2020 Easter celebration falling on 12th April, churches in Ghana were expected to be decorated with braided palm branches as is usually done today, 5th April. In accordance with the president’s lockdown directive and the ban on social gatherings, these churches were closed and the members who would have attended service with their own little braided palm fronds were also absent. But that doesn’t mean the day is passing by without Christians marking Palm Sunday. It was a sight to behold as several people in Avenor and Apenkwa had taken their time to places braided palm fronds at either their main gates or front doors. Others had gone the extra mile to put some of the palm leaves on their cars to mark the day.
