Kirinyaga county governor Anne Waiguru has called on president Uhuru Kenyatta to extend a reconciliatory handshake to his deputy William Ruto. While defending Ruto, Waiguru urged Kenyans to dismiss the allegations with contempt saying they are mere propaganda. She added: "All I can advise you our dear president is for you to extend a handshake with your deputy because the love that Kenyans have for Ruto is immeasurable". Waiguru further called on her opponents to make clear where they stand and avoid fence-sitting. On the upcoming UDA nominations, Waiguru gave an assurance that the exercise would be conducted in a free and fair manner.
