Exports seen to recover on rising demand from China

“Figures have shown that the magnitude of decline in demand from China have narrowed significantly. In the meantime, exports in October could remain low, dragged down by declining shipment of manufactured as well as mining products, Tan said. “We think that exports for the month of October is likely to drop further as shipment of manufactured and mining goods is declining. Exports of mining products for September dipped 22.8% dragged down by shipments of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and crude petroleum which fell 20% and 26.8% respectively. The drag in exports of LNG was mainly due to declining demand from Japan, which is increasing its dependence on nuclear energy for electricity generation.
