Irshad Kamil’s last release as a lyricist, When Harry Met Sejal, was appreciated for its songs. Add to that, the pleasure of working with his longtime-collaborator, director Imtiaz Ali, that led to the songs being big hits. Apart from penning lyrics for movies, Irshad is also geared to take his non-filmi poetry to the digital platform. “There are a lot of songs, where the element of poetry is heightened. It’s a great platform to connect to the youth as well,” feels the wordsmith, who also has a poetry band of his own.
