Jordan Peele's sophomore horror film Us premieres nationally this week after a strong debut at SXSW. When darkness falls, the Wilsons discover the silhouette of four figures holding hands as they stand in the driveway. Jordan Peele and the cast have referred to these doubles as The Tethered, monstrous versions of their counterparts equipped with menacing gold scissors. US and 'The Tethered'In a conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Peele described The Tethered in greater detail:I think the main idea that went into writing this film is that we’re our own worst enemy, and that idea created this monster, The Tethered. I wanted to forge this new mythology that explored our duality and the duality of the characters.
