In 2008, NASA announced that a new exoplanet was found orbiting a star 25 light-years away . The host star, Fomalhaut, has long fascinated astronomers. This image, taken with the Advanced Camera for Surveys aboard the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope, shows what was initially identified as an exoplanet orbiting the star Fomalhaut. The inset at bottom right is a composite image showing the planet's position during Hubble observations taken in 2004 and 2006. "For starters, its colours were a bit off from what one would expect from a massive exoplanet."
