It said Ron and Dipu also forced the Exim Bank officials to sign a blank white paper. Both Ron and Dipu — sons of Sikder Group Founder and Chairman Zainul Haque Sikder — are on the run since the May 7 incident, said Gulshan police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Kamruzzaman. Media reports quoting the case details said Haider and Firoz were invited to inspect the Sikder Group directors' mortgaged property against the latters’ proposal for a Tk500 crore loan. The Exim Bank officials were beaten and shot by Ron and Dipu after they said the property’s mortgage value was less as security than what the brothers were expecting.
