The American Dream: Pop to the Present is a roll call of the most famous artists of the postwar era — Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns, Edward Ruscha, Donald Judd and Claes Oldenburg to reel off just a few — along with a whole lot of prints by people you might never have heard of but may now find yourself starting to seek out. The British Museum has long held an impressive collection of printed works from postwar America to which it has been adding significantly and, as this show suggests, judiciously, over the past decade.
