Exeter and Crewe played out a 1-1 draw at St James Park which did little for either side in their hopes of a top three finish in Sky Bet League Two. Nicky Law's corner was headed down by Nigel Atangana and defender Tom Parkes was able to turn the ball past stranded goalkeeper Will Jaaskelainen. Randell Williams almost made it 2-0 on the stroke of half-time, only for his volley to go straight into the grateful arms of Jaaskelainen. Stephen Wright shot over as Crewe looked to take charge, while Ryan Bowman was off target for Exeter, when both should have done better. Archie Collins was denied by a brilliant Jaaskelainen save, diving high to his left, but a draw was the fair result between two good teams.
