[File, Standard]Members of the Nandi County Assembly have questioned Governor Stephen Sang’s commitment in the fight against corruption that has in the past affacted service delivery in some departments.This follows a failed impeachment attempt on Economic Planning and Finance County Executive Committee member Alfred Lagat. A section of MCAs yesterday wondered why the impeachment failed despite a majority of the ward representatives earlier backing a report to investigate the CEC for alleged gross misconduct and incompetence. They pointed an accusing fingers at the county administration, claiming it was becoming a ‘stumbling block’ in efforts by the Assembly to fight corruption. Lagat survived an impeachment motion last Friday during an Assembly session that continued way past 8pm when the impeachment report was voted out by 25 MCAs against only 11 who supported it.
