Bhattacharya said, "There will be no exchange of notes tomorrow. Speaking exclusively to India Today she said, "Even though Rs 1,40,000 crore has been deposited in SBI, Rs 500 notes are in short supply at the moment." He, however, said senior citizens are exempted and they can go to any bank branch to exchange notes tomorrow. The IBA decision is only for Saturday and from Monday onwards all customers will be allowed to exchange notes at a branch of any bank. The government announced scrapping of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes on November 8.
