Local hero Henry de Bromhead was ‘thrilled’ to be welcomed home following his history-making week at the Cheltenham Festival. It was a modest return amid the ongoing restrictions, but the Waterford trainer’s neighbours were keen to show their support. A small group welcomed the appreciative trainer back to his Knockeen base on Saturday morning. None the less, the modest 48-year-old was surprised to see people waiting for him with signs of congratulations following his unprecedented success. Henry de Bromhead will now enjoy a well-earned rest following his dream week at Prestbury Park.
