As previously reported on Forbes, Samsung is expected to bring forward the launch and subsequent release of the Galaxy Note 9. That is now being brought forward (potentially to a July launch and early August release). With sales of the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus proving to be steady but not smashing records, a bit of a boost to keep the balance sheet happy would not be unwanted. But that could leave over seven months between the new Note launch and the traditional Galaxy S release in the weeks after the launch at Mobile World Congress. As discussed earlier this year on Forbes, Samsung had the option to go for a sneak preview of the Galaxy S9 at CES 2018 but declined the marketing opportunity.
