Share:ISLAMABAD - Wheat Review Committee was Monday informed that except Punjab all the other provinces and PASSCO have procured more wheat in 2021 as compared to the previous year, while public stock of wheat in the country is 6,479,937 MT which is sufficient to cater for the civic requirement of 162 days. The minister was apprised of the latest wheat production estimates, wheat stock positions, wheat carry forward and procurement progress and update on wheat release price and minimum support price. Total wheat stock available with Punjab stands at 3.86 MMT, Sindh’s at 1.26 MMT, KP’s at 0.18 MMT and Baluchistan’s at 0.085 MMT. It was informed that Punjab has procured 3890,000 MT wheat in 2021, which is less than 4,081,561 MT procured in 2021. He also assured GB and AJ&K that the federal government is fully willing to supply wheat to wheat deficit areas from PASSCO’s stock.
