A center defender back in the days, Salahuddin played for the national team from 1989 to 1993Former Bangladesh footballer SM Salahuddin breathed his last Sunday morning at his Narayanganj home after suffering from fever and pneumonia in the last few days. Salahuddin was laid to eternal rest at a local graveyard after namaz-e-janaza following zuhr prayers. A center defender back in the days, Salahuddin played for the national team from 1989 to 1993. Having started his club career in 1980, he played for Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited, Team Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation and Dhaka Wanderers. He was the manager of the title-winning Bangladesh U-15 team in the Saff U-15 Championship in Sylhet in 2015.
