(CNN) Richard Cordray, who stepped down from the top Consumer Financial Protection Bureau position prior to the weekend, has his thoughts on how the power struggle for his old job will play out. "(Mick) Mulvaney will not be director of the CFPB over the long term. This is the interim period we're talking about here," Cordray predicted to Erin Burnett on Monday evening. "One thing I would say is this is a serious legal matter that should be weighed carefully," Cordray added during his " OutFront " interview.
