Dhaka Divisional Special Judge Syed Kamal Hossain issued the order on Monday, sentencing former police sergeant Azhar Ali under two sections of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2004. The ACC filed a case against Azhar with Ramna police station on February 27, 2012, accusing him of amassing illegal wealth of more than Tk1.12 crore. The ACC submitted a charge sheet against Azhar on June 14, 2015, and the court framed charges against him on March 16, 2016.
