Lawyers for two SA Revenue Service (SARS) employees fired during the tenure of former commissioner Tom Moyane say the tax agency keeps arguing against itself in supporting their "indefensible" dismissals. Last month the Johannesburg Labour Court ordered SARS to reinstate Hope Mashilo and Tshebeletso Seremane immediately. Both were fired in 2017 during a controversial restructuring. Mashilo and Seremane were axed after they refused to take up new "domain specialists" positions established as part of a company-wide restructuring proposed by consultancy Bain & Co. and carried out by Moyane.
