Former Nyali MP Awiti Bolo, was on Thursday, October 1, charged with the offence of issuing out fake cheques amounting to Ksh2.2 million. The lawmaker, who appeared before Mombasa Law courts, was accused of issuing bad cheques to Jefan General Contractors in 2015. The cheques were divided into four bearing Ksh 500,000 each and another one worth Ksh 239,283. TwitterPrincipal Magistrate Elvis Micheka charged him with the offence and released him on a bond of Ksh 500,000 with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 300,000. The accused shall be released upon executing a bond of Ksh 500,000 or a cash bail of Ksh 200,000,” ruled the judge.
